Hi, I'm Lisa! Health & Wellness has been a focus for me throughout my adult life. While originally
utilizing art as a tool for communication, expression and as an outlet for my students, I have moved to incorporating a new set of tools to aid in self-awareness and as a catalyst for change. Profile Evansville has provided the opportunity to continue my passion of helping people achieve healthier lifestyles! While at home, one can find me creating sculptures, vessels and functional artwork, most often from clay. I also spend countless hours planting flowers and watching for pollinators and birds... a love that I share with my husband and children alike.
Have some great news that I have been keeping under wraps for some time now, but now that I am well into my journey; I am finally ready to share it with EVERYONE! I have really struggled with my weight since having my children. After having my daughter, I lost a significant amount of weight, but gained it all back during my pregnancy with my son. I carried that extra weight around for 5 years. I was at the point where I was unhappy with myself and the person that I saw in the mirror. I was also experiencing pain in my back, my knees, and ankles, and I felt exhausted all the time. Not only was the weight affecting my self-esteem, but it was also affecting my health.
I knew that I desperately needed to make a change. The day I signed up; I had a consultation with Tami. During this initial meeting, she walked me through how simple the program was and asked me those tough questions to find out exactly 'Why' I wanted to make a change. She gave me the safe and judgment-free space that I needed to be truly open and honest about how I was feeling about myself and my body. On August 24, 2021, I made a commitment to myself and to my health to be better and I haven’t looked back.
This journey with Profile has been surprisingly easy. The program sets you up with all the tools and resources that you need to be successful. I love that their app gives me an easy place to track my weight as well as my meals. The best part is that their shakes and bars are delicious! I have tried to keep things simple and take each day one shake and one meal at a time. I have successfully made it through Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, my birthday, and Valentine’s Day while being on plan, and I am so proud of myself.
Before Profile, I would have used those holidays as an excuse to binge all the food, desserts, and candy. I have learned how to make healthier choices that are not only delicious but also better for my body and for my goals. I have also seen repeatedly that by eating healthier my body feels better and stays sustained for longer.
Another aspect of Profile that has been a huge part of my success is one-on-one coaching. My coach, Tami, has been the absolute best. I look forward to our weekly meetings where she greets me with the biggest smile, and she is always there to celebrate not only the big victories but the small ones as well. She provides me with the accountability that I desperately needed and helps me to prepare for my week ahead. I can honestly say that I would not have made it this far without her constant encouragement and motivation.
Today marks my 183rd day (about 6 months) on this program and I am so happy to say that I have lost 72 pounds and 69.5 inches. When I started, I wore a 2XL shirt and my jeans size was a 16. Today, I am comfortably wearing a large and size 10 jeans. I can tell an enormous difference in my self-esteem as well as my general health. I have so much more energy and I notice almost daily things that are easier for me now that I am not carrying around that extra 70 pounds.
Thank you, Profile!!!! I am so thankful for this program, and I love that I can finally see 'ME' in the mirror again.
