This page is dedicated to offering detailed answers about the implications of this merge for your coaching, food choices, and program pricing. The simple answer is that we believe bringing the best of Profile into the HMR program will create – hands down – the most effective, most affordable weight loss program on the market. Profile Plan bought HMR a year ago, and our entire team is continuously amazed at the impressive results achieved by every member. Profile Plan is also highly effective. And with more and more American’s choosing medication and quick fixes over lifestyle change, it would be irresponsible of us as a leadership team to not focus all of our energy on providing the best offerings we can to our members. However, as we navigate this change together, I want to ensure you that our commitment to your success is unwavering.

Rest assured, your personalized coaching experience will continue with many of the same trusted Profile coaches now part of HMR. This transition is designed to maintain the supportive relationship you've built with your coach. For those that will be coaching with a new coach, please know that these coaches are so excited to work with you, and are eager to build a lasting relationship.

Absolutely! HMR offers a dynamic group coaching option, allowing you to benefit from a coach's expertise along with the motivation of a community. HMR's group coaching is no cost when you maintain an auto-subscription of HMR foods, and for those in the Profile community interested in trying group coaching, we’re offering a food discount available here.

Yes, Profile foods will be available until early 2024. You're also invited to try HMR's selection, with sampling opportunities and a special Black Friday offer (keep your eyes on your inbox for this one!). HMR products will be on profiles website starting in early December so profile members can order both HMR and profile foods, while supplies last.

Your feedback is invaluable, and we’re increasing the HMR shake flavor lineup as a result. We're excited to introduce several of your preferred shake flavors to HMR by early 2024, ensuring the tastes you love are still part of your journey.

While each location's timeline may differ, your store will transition from in-store to virtual coaching by December 22nd. Virtual coaching, offering both video and phone sessions, begins the week of December 23rd. When assessing member outcomes, we have found virtual coaching does not decrease outcomes, and in fact it offers flexibility in meeting times and locations that members deeply value.

For our legacy Profile members, we're adopting a "swap" strategy, directly substituting Profile foods with HMR equivalents to keep your meal plan consistent. The Journey App and other digital tools will remain in place for now, with a gradual move to HMR's platforms in the future.

HMR offers more affordable options with a 5% auto-ship discount—enjoy lower prices on items like shakes and bars. We're also reducing the premium 1:1 monthly coaching fee to $99 starting January 1. If you've prepaid for coaching, you'll receive a $50 food credit for each remaining month. For 1:1 members who are at goal and maintaining their weight loss, we also offer a basic membership which allows for a 1:1 session every 6-weeks, app access, and Q&A with their coach through Journey App. The cost of this basic membership is $29/month.

HMR FAQs:

HMR’s research-backed approach helps people lose weight and build healthier, sustainable habits around diet and exercise. Just like Profile, we’re all about lifestyle change. HMR may use the word “diet” when referring to our weight-loss plans, but we can assure you that HMR’s path to weight and health management is through lifestyle change. We offer our programs through in-person settings across the country as well as an at-home program.

HMR’s in-person program for weight loss and lifestyle change can provide you with a great amount of weight loss and a high level of support. The in-person program has two diet plans for weight loss – Decision-Free® (only HMR foods, with medical supervision) and Healthy Solutions® (HMR foods plus fruits and vegetables) – and you’ll also receive coaching.You can find out here if there is an in-person clinic option near you.

Our at-home program begins with Phase 1 (which is designed for weight loss/Reduce) – members follow a highly structured, nutritionally complete meal plan designed to reduce food decisions and support satiety by using HMR Shakes, Entrees, Cereal, and Bars, plus fruits and vegetables. In Phase 2 (long-term maintenance/Sustain), members reduce their reliance on HMR foods as they create a daily diet of mostly lean proteins, whole grains, low-fat dairy, vegetables, and fruit. And in between Phase 1 and Phase 2 is a transitionary time (Adapt) when members slowly begin adding in lean proteins and whole grains.

We are proud to offer some of the best tasting foods, which are packaged in a convenient way for quick, versatile, and low-calorie meals that you don’t have to spend too much time preparing.  

We have a variety of 17 HMR Entrees that taste great on their own or paired with veggies, and can be ready in 1 minute.  We also have shakes (standard and lactose-free) that can be prepared in several different ways. We have a hot cereal, hot soup mix, and 5 varieties of snack bars.

Some people ask about the “BE” label on some HMR products. HMR complies with USDA ruling to increase transparency around bioengineered (BE) products. BE ingredients are made through a process to aid in stability and longevity of product shelf-life and/or provide higher nutrient content. Many common foods that are bioengineered include soybean, sugar, and corn products. Some HMR products contain small amounts of these common ingredients. The caliber of our food is of the utmost importance to HMR and we will continue to support our HMR community with nutritious, high-quality products.  

New members sometimes ask about aspartame used in some of our shake products. Aspartame is a non-nutritive sweetener used in the production of foods and beverages both in the United States and internationally. Aspartame is approved by the FDA and verified as safe by a number of scientific authorities, such as the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and Health Canada. The aspartame in our products is well below the recommended threshold.

We strive to provide members with a diet that’s realistic for everyday life and sustainable long-term. Your weight loss should not be affected by switching from a ketogenic diet to a balanced eating pattern, and you can achieve great weight-loss results on the HMR plan. 

HMR eating plans focus on a balanced diet with a healthy balance of protein, carbohydrates, and fat. We use USDA recommendations to ensure our eating plans provide you with an adequate balance of macronutrients, plus vitamins/minerals. 

Weight loss is achieved when you obtain a calorie deficit, whether those calories are coming from carbs, fat, or protein. We have had members transition from Profile to HMR and quickly lose a significant amount of weight.

HMR is not a short-term diet, but rather focused on long-term lifestyle changes. HMR’s Phase 1 (weight-loss phase) focuses on taking a break from eating your typical foods that may not have been supporting a healthy lifestyle, and focusing on learning the right portion sizes through using HMR Entrees and Shakes and eating lots of fruits and vegetables to support your overall health and weight goals. HMR coaching groups focus on making realistic lifestyle changes through food, exercise, and how to handle challenges such as social gatherings or travel. When you transition to Phase 2, you learn how to incorporate other healthy foods like lean proteins and whole grains for long-term success.

HMR groups are facilitated by trained HMR Health Coaches who provide accountability to stay on track, help members problem-solve real life challenges, meal preparation, and planning. Group coaching allows members to connect with peers who are there every step of the way. Our members share tips and strategies they use to lose weight and maintain weight loss long-term. Data shows us that with coaching, members are likely to lose more weight and stick with the plan longer. Our members are also supported by articles, videos, and an app to help you eat well, be more active, and stay on track toward your goals.
