Kandi Alyousef- Garza
Kandi is passionate about making an impact on her community through her
work in healthcare. "Although I've had an influence on an indirect
basis by advising employers on their wellness initiatives, I've always
had a strong desire to impact people directly," Kandi says. "My
partnership with Profile allows me to do just that, which is what excites
me the most". With over three decades in the healthcare industry,
Kandi is ardent about health and wellness. She has worked in different
roles with Employee Benefits Consulting and Health Insurance Sales and
is also a licensed broker, producer, and agent for Accident and Health
in nine different states including, of course, Texas. Her enthusiasm for
impacting the community isn't limited to healthcare. She has served as
a board member for various organizations including Deaf Action Center
and Prevent Blindness. She currently volunteers for the Salvation Army
as well as her church, St. Andrew UMC, where her favorite event is the
Prom Closet which gives young ladies the opportunity to select a dress
and accessories at no cost. She is also a member of several professional
groups such as the DFW Business Group on Health (DFWBGH), Worldwide Employee
Benefits (WEB), and Southwest Benefits Association (SWBA). Kandi is a
native Texan and has lived in the Plano area with her husband Eric and
two children for 20 years. She enjoys playing golf and tennis and is an
active member of Gleneagles Country Club.
RDN, LD - Profile Coach
Hi, I’m Amy. Some of my best memories of growing up are gathering
with family to experience life’s moments with home cooked food.
I still enjoy keeping traditions alive by sharing meals together with
family. My early interest in health and science soon became a natural
connection with my love for food. I have enjoyed working in the field
of nutrition for the last 20 years. My experience spans working with different
age groups and diverse populations in areas of community non-profit, school
foodservice and corporate wellness.
I graduated with a B.S. in Dietetics and Institutional Administration from
Texas Woman’s University and completed my dietetic internship program
at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas. As a member of the Academy of Nutrition
and Dietetics, I completed a Certification in Adult Weight Management
which inspired me to focus more on this area. I previously served on the
Governing Board of the Dallas Dietetic Alliance and the Executive Board
of the Dallas Farmers Market friends.
I am a native Texan and live in the Plano area with my husband and daughter.
I cherish my role as a mom, the best job and the most challenging job
of being a parent. In my spare time I love to cook, travel, attend outdoor
festivals and visit museums.
I would say the most rewarding thing about being a Registered Dietitian
is educating others about the fundamentals of nutrition and building confidence
in their abilities to make lasting behavior changes.
Hi, I’m Katie! I’ve lived in Texas for most of my life and
absolutely love it! I enjoy the outdoors and walking the local trails
with my dogs - Arbor Hills Nature Preserve is my favorite. My husband
and I are pet parents to four wonderful animals, two dogs and two cats.
I was a group exercise instructor for 7 years and taught formats such as
R.I.P.P.E.D., Turbo Kickboxing, Hip Hop, Piyo, and water aerobics. Aerial
arts is my favorite activity and I recently performed in a showcase.
My passion for Nutrition originated when I lost 60 lbs and became obsessed
with how nutrition can change everything in your life! After that, I decided
that I would dedicate my career to helping others feel the same way!
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from Texas Women’s University
(go pioneers!). During my time in College I volunteered with our local
soup kitchen "Our Daily Bread" and the Denton Animal Shelter.
I am passionate about helping others live happier and healthier lives!
Hi, I'm Ryan. I am originally from Minnesota, but now consider myself a
Texan from being here for almost 7 years now. I love Dallas and consider
it my home. My main hobbies are exercise, fishing and spending time with
my two dogs.
Health and fitness is an essential part of my life. Born into a sports
environment, I went on to be a top collegiate athlete in two sports. This
is where my passion for health and fitness began. I then went on to get
a Master of Science degree in Exercise Physiology and became a certified
Exercise Physiologist. My physiology degree has helped me to understand
the functions of the human body in great detail.
I have been a health coach for over 6 years. This includes nutrition and
exercise programming for a wide variety of individuals, such as weight
loss and athletes, to those with medical conditions such as cancer and
epilepsy. In my previous role I was the wellness director for the Epilepsy
foundation of Texas. During my time there I was able to create and implement
the Get FIT Texas wellness program for individuals with disabilities all
throughout the state of Texas.
I am extremely happy and excited to be a part of the Profile team, it is
my passion to help everyone live a happier and healthier life.
I’m Amy, and my life is about family, faith, friends, fitness and
food! I think
food is a language that we all speak! Food is such a complicated answer to the
question of “What’s for dinner?” Food changes our lives
now and acts as an investment in our future quality of life. Healthy food
choices help us reach our potential. Those choices can be healthy or toxic
to our bodies, setting us up to reach success or encumbering us with distractions.
After graduating from Texas Christian University with a B.S. in Nutrition,
I started as a dietitian in the clinical setting then moved into education
through achieving my Masters in Education; all the while focusing on my
two great passions of meeting others where they are and helping them positively
move forward from there. The pace of progress looks different for everyone!
In the clinical setting as a registered dietitian, I counseled oncology,
gastroenterology, pediatrics patients, as well as pregnant and nursing
mothers. I have had the great joy of facilitating community nutrition
classes through Frisco Family Services. My mission is to use what I have,
to help others.
There is a beautiful science of food that involves chemistry, creativity
and relationships; and I
thoroughly enjoy all things science. I appreciate being able to wrestle with an idea
to make it mine. I believe thinking deeply enhances our relationships.
And I love to ask and think about good questions. Have you ever wondered
why you keep doing the same things even when you think you want to do
something else? So, what small thing can you start doing today that will
move you toward a healthier lifestyle, that you can still do tomorrow?
Hello, I’m Lily. I’m originally from the small town of Dandridge
located in East TN. After graduating high school I moved to Lexington,
KY to attend the University of Kentucky where I became a fourth generation
UK student. During my time at UK I was a member of the UK dance team,
Alpha Delta Pi, DanceBlue, and numerous other student/community organizations.
While in school I interned in positions that gave me sales, marketing,
PR, and social media management experience. I graduated in May 2018 Summa
Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s of Science in Public Relations and Business.
After graduation I moved to Dallas, TX as a training camp candidate for
the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders.
After years of competition, my dream finally came true when I officially
made it as a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader in 2019! I've fallen in love with
Dallas and everything Texas has to offer. I am so excited to call Dallas
my new home and to be a member of the Profile team (and DCC)!.
